Fans do graphic mods for games all the time. If anything they trade blows, but neither is likely to completely stand above the other.Īnd if the can't legally obtain those assets for use, it doesn't mean it's out of the question for fans to mod them into the game after it releases. Utilizing the higher quality assets from the Chinese PC builds aren't magically going to ensure everything else is superior, likewise not using them isn't going to magically make the official release inferior either. They're talking about the build itself, ensuring it plays as intended, bug free, glitch free, yada yada. Also when people speak of quality, they aren't just talking about asset quality. That doesn't make them garbage, that just makes them lesser. Stop pretending the PSP assets are "total garbage" just because "better" assets exist. Also just because they purchased a complete script doesn't mean they're not going to do a thorough TLC, edit, and QC pass which takes time as well. Once they finish the build for the games they've got to port it PS4, Switch, and PC and ensure that they all work as intended and bug test them. There is more to releases than just the script obviously. He is not going to be re-drawing those assets himself. If Durante is using the low-res, total garbage PSP assets that are in the "Kai" versions (whether or not he is is currently an open question, which is quite disturbing that NISA hasn't declared that it isn't the case), then the games are going to be low-quality by default, regardless of anything that Durante does to them.
